Chocolate Peppermint Bark

This Peppermint Bark recipe is a Holiday tradition for us and it's so simple to make. Layers of chocolate and white chocolate flavored with peppermint and topped with crushed candy canes. Perfect for Christmas gifts!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 16 ounces white chocolate wafers (we prefer Ghirardelli)
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 3/4 cups crushed peppermints or candy canes

  1. Pour the semisweet chocolate chips in a glass bowl and microwave for 30 second increments until melted. Stir until completely smooth.
  2. Spread the chocolate into a 9″x 13″ rectangle on a clean counter (or a piece of parchment paper) using an offset spatula or knife. Let the chocolate cool until set. I do not recommend placing the chocolate in the fridge. If it's too hard, the top white chocolate layer will not "stick" to it as well.
  3. Place the white chocolate wafers in a glass bowl and microwave for 30 second increments until melted. Add the peppermint extract and stir until smooth.
  4. Spread the peppermint white chocolate mixture over the semi-sweet chocolate layer. Top with the chopped peppermints. Let harden until the chocolate is completely set.
  5. Use a shape knife to cut the bark into pieces. Serve and enjoy!
