Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder unsweetened, I used Hershey’s
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir in the water.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue to simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool and pour it into a glass jar or bottle.
