Chocolate Tiffin
An easy no bake chocolate fridge cake with any mix-ins you like, this is so yummy and simple to make, a lot of fun to get the kids involved.
Ingredients
- 12 oz digestive biscuits 360 g, biscuits of choice, mix used
- 12 oz Oreos
- 12 oz Marie tea biscuits
- 1/2-2/3 cup chocolate bars completely optional!, leftover chopped, plus extra for topping
- 1/2-2/3 cup candy pieces completely optional!, leftover chopped, plus extra for topping
- 1 cup butter 226 g, 2 sticks, melted
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder 85g, natural or dutch processed
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz, 400 g
Instructions
- Lightly grease and line an 8x8 inch square pan (20 cm) with parchment paper.
- Break the biscuits into large chunks and set aside in a bowl. Add the chopped candy bars and candy pieces if using.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, cocoa powder and condensed milk until smooth and combined. Add the biscuit pieces and chopped candy and fold to combine.
- Dollop mixture into prepared pan, and spread out evenly with a spatula. Optionally, top with extra candy bars and chocolate pieces for decoration, and press them in a little so they stick.
- Freeze for 2-3 hours until set and firm, then cut into squares. Enjoy once they've been at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes and have lost a bit of that freezer chill. Store leftovers in the freezer!
Notes
- Traditional tiffin usually uses golden syrup to sweeten, but I love the texture that sweetened condensed milk gives. It also usually comes with dried raisins, cranberries or cherries but I prefer it without.
- Storing Leftovers: Leftovers last at least 10 days tightly covered in the fridge, or 3-5 months in the freezer
