Cinnamon Baked Apples

These cinnamon baked apples are the perfect dessert for fall, with sweet, soft apples, warm cinnamon, and crunchy walnuts; they’re cozy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 6 sweet apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar divided
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Wash the apples and with a knife, core each apple starting at the stem, removing the center of the apple. This can also be done with an apple corer if you own one.
  3. Place each apple in a 9x13 dish.
  4. In a small bowl mix together 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon.
  5. Place an equal amount of filling into each of the cored apples.
  6. Divide the butter into 6 equal pieces and top each one of the apples.
  7. In a small bowl whisk together the orange juice and the remaining brown sugar.
  8. Pour into the bottom of the dish.
  9. Add the apples to the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the apples are soft and the syrup has thickened.
  10. Serve warm plain or topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
