Cinnamon French Toast

One of the great breakfast dishes, but with a cinnamon twist!

Ingredients

  • 4 egg large
  • 1 cup milk whole
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 lices bread thick-cut
  • butter for cooking and serving
  • maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a few pats of butter.
  3. Dunk each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing each side to soak briefly.
  4. Once the butter in the pan has melted, place the soaked bread slices on the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side.
  5. Serve warm with additional butter on top. Drizzle with maple syrup and any other preferred toppings.
