Cinnamon French Toast Bake

Cinnamon French toast bake is a warm and satisfying breakfast that's loaded with soft and sweet spiced bread all drizzled in maple syrup. Your family will go crazy over this insanely delicious (and easy-to-make) breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 6 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ loaves cinnamon bread, about 14 slices
  • ½ cup pecans, chopped
  • Maple syrup, as desired for topping

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a pastry brush to brush the melted 2 tablespoons salted butter, all over the bottom and sides of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 6 large eggs, ⅔ cup milk, ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Quickly dredge each slice of the 1 ½ loaves cinnamon bread, in the mixture before laying them down in the baking dish, staggering them as needed to make them fit.
  3. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top of the bread and sprinkle on the chopped ½ cup pecans,.
  4. Bake for 22-25 minutes, until the bread begins to brown and the bread is cooked on the outside. The undersides will still be soft and custardy, so if you prefer your French toast more done feel free to bake for a few more minutes.
  5. Drizzle the French toast with maple syrup, and, if desired, dust with powdered sugar. Serve with additional toppings, if desired.
