Cinnamon Spice Apple Bread

This easy, quick and deliriously spicy apple bread is a fabulous way to bake using apples! Perfect for breakfast and tea time!

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter OR applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 °F. Grease a standard loaf pan well, and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and eggs, together until creamy. Add in the sugars, beat them in well until combined. Add in the vanilla, mix in.
  3. Stir in the shredded apples until combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and spices in a separate bowl until they are mixed together completely.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the apple mixture and stir just until evenly combined.
  6. This will be a thick batter!
  7. Scoop the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. To prevent the apple bread from getting to dark, place a piece of aluminum foil lightly on top of the bread about 30 minutes into baking.
  9. Continue baking until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes more.
  10. Cool the bread in the loaf pan for 10 minutes.
  11. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
