Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 425˚F
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Create a well in the flour and pour the cream into the well. Mix until the scone dough just comes together. The dough should hold together, but not be overly sticky.
  4. Flour a surface and divide the dough in half. Form each half into a disc about 1.5-2" tall. Cut the disc into 6ths to form 6 triangles. (Cut like a pizza.)
  5. Transfer each scone to a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the centers are set and the edges start to brown.
  6. While the scones are baking, mix the cinnamon sugar together in a bowl.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes then toss the cinnamon sugar mixture over each scone to coat, or place the cinnamon sugar in a large zip top bag and gently shake the scone in the sugar mixture.
