Classic Apricot Chicken

This classic apricot chicken is only 4 ingredients - apricot jam, onion soup mix, chicken, and French dressing. Sweet, sticky, and incredibly retro, you can't help but be won over by this simple apricot chicken recipe!

Ingredients

Chicken
  • 8 chicken thighs bone in and skin on
  • 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • black pepper
  • salt
Apricot Sauce
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 cup french dressing or Russian Dressing
  • one ounce dry onion soup mix package

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 °F.
  2. Get out a large oven proof skillet or pan.
  3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. Heat the oil in the skillet.
  5. Fry the chicken in the oil until all sides are browned.
  6. Mix together the sauce ingredients.
  7. Brush half of the sauce over top of the chicken in the pan, reserving some for later.
  8. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Pour the remaining mixture on top of the chicken thighs.
  10. Continue to cook the thighs until the internal temperature reaches 185 °F.
  11. Remove and serve with some sauce drizzled over top of the chicken.

Notes
