Classic Chili Dogs
Nothing says game day food like Classic Chili Dogs! This chili has a tangy taste that goes perfectly with hot dogs! This easy game day recipe will make your friends happy!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 lb. ground beef or Kosher ground beef
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup onion
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- ¼ cup yellow mustard
- ¾ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 pkg hot dogs Hebrew National brand
- hot dog buns
favorite toppings (optional)
- green onions
- purple onion
Instructions
- heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat
- add in the ground beef, breaking up as it cooks
- once meat is cooked through drain off any excess oil
- add in the onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until onion is softened
- add in ketchup, sugar, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire, salt and pepper
- allow to simmer, stirring often, until liquid is reduced and chili is thick, about 10 minutes
- cook hot dogs using favorite method, on a skillet or grill
- place hot dog on bun and spoon chili over the top
- finish off by sprinkling with your favorite toppings
- enjoy!
