Classic Homemade Belgian Waffle Recipe
Nothing beats homemade Belgian waffles for breakfast, lunch OR even dinner! These crispy waffles are a family favorite that my own mom has been making since the 80's!

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs separated
- 1/4 cup melted salted butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions
- Oil the top and bottom grids of the waffle iron with some vegetable oil then preheat to medium-high.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, separate egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.
- In a large 4 cup capacity liquid measuring glass, mix together the egg yolks, milk, butter, oil and vanilla, stir until completely combined.
- Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Fold in the egg whites until just combined, trying not to over mix.
- Cook in the waffle iron on medium-high heat OR on the setting that says Belgian waffles/waffles for around 5-8 minutes. The waffles should be very golden brown on the outside.
- If needed, oil the waffle iron between waffles using a basting brush with oil.
