Classic Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Perfectly soft and crackled peanut butter cookies topped with Hershey’s Kisses or peanut butter cups. A classic Christmas cookie!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup flour *all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter *unsalted
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter *creamy
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 36 Hershey Kisses *unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, and salt, set aside.
  3. In a different mixing bowl, cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add in egg and vanilla, beat well.
  5. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually and mix thoroughly.
  6. Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each.
  7. Roll balls through a bowl of sugar and place on a cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven, place Hershey kiss in middle pressing down firmly so that the cookie “cracks” around the edges.
  10. Return back to oven for an additional 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.

  • Makes about 3 dozen.
