Classic Shrimp Alfredo

Classic Shrimp Alfredo is a fresh seafood version of alfredo pasta with fettuccine pasta, perfectly seasoned shrimp, and cheesy, creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Fettuccine pasta
  • 1 pound Shrimp , (16-20 count) peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Alfredo Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 3 cups Parmesan Cheese , shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • parmesan cheese and parsley , for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta 1 minute shy of directions on the box, then drain and set aside.
  2. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Add olive oil to a large deep skillet on medium-high heat.
  4. Cook on each side for 1-2 minutes until well pink, then remove from the pan.
  5. Add butter and garlic to a medium saucepan on medium heat.
  6. Whisk in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  7. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
  8. Add in Parmesan cheese and black pepper, stirring until cheese is melted and the sauce has thickened.
  9. Add pasta to the pan and toss well.
  10. Top with shrimp and stir gently to coat.
  11. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese if desired and garnish with parsley.
