Club Sandwich Pasta Salad
Club Sandwich Pasta Salad combines farfalle pasta with ingredients commonly found in a club sandwich: turkey breast, bacon, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and green onions. Tossed with ranch dressing and barbecue sauce, this salad offers a creamy, smoky flavor profile with a blend of textures from crisp lettuce to tender pasta. It serves as a fresh, filling salad suitable for casual meals.
Ingredients
- ½ pound farfalle pasta 8 ounces; rigatoni, ziti, small shells may be substituted
- romaine lettuce about 6 cups
- 1 to 1 ½ cups tomatoes halved, cherry or grape
- 8 ounces turkey breast diced into bite-sized pieces, deli
- Bacon diced small (I use one 2.5-ounce package precooked bacon and microwave it for 1 minute to save time, about 10 slices, about 3/4 cup, cooked
- 1 to 1.5 cups cheese I use a Mexican blend, shredded
- 3 to 4 green onions sliced into thin rounds
- ranch dressing or more if desired (mayo may be substituted, about 1/2 cup
- 2 to 4 tablespoons barbecue sauce I prefer 4 tablespoons
- ½ teaspoon black pepper or to taste, freshly ground
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain, and add to a large bowl.
- Add the lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, turkey, cheese, green onions, and toss to combine; set aside.
- To a small bowl, add the ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, pepper, stir to combine, and evenly drizzle over the salad. If necessary, add additional ranch as desired to evenly coat the salad.
- Serve immediately after dressed. Salad is best fresh.
