Coca-Cola Pulled Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Pork shoulder roast 4 to 5-pound
  • 1 can coca cola 12-ounce
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Pour the soda over the pork and add the liquid smoke.
  3. Set the slow cooker to cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
  4. When the meat is cooked through, remove it from the pot and shred it. Add the BBQ sauce and stir to coat before serving.

Notes

  • Cooking your pork on low for longer is the secret to achieving that melt-in-the-mouth tenderness.
  • I like to use the pork shoulder or butt. It's full of flavor and the perfect amount of fat to keep your pork juicy and tender. 
  • Don't use diet or low-sugar soda in this recipe.
  • If you prefer Pepsi to Coke, use that instead.
