Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2-3 tablespoon milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free version)
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (for coating)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Prepare Cookie Dough: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Flour and Milk: Gradually mix in the flour and milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Using your hands or a spoon, scoop out small portions of the dough and roll them into balls, about 1-inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill the Dough Balls: Refrigerate the dough balls for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Coat with Chocolate: Melt the 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once melted, dip each dough ball into the chocolate, coating it fully. Place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  6. Let Set and Serve: Allow the chocolate coating to set by refrigerating the truffles for about 15 minutes. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Cookie dough truffles can be made in advance. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
  • Customizing the Flavor: Add a dash of cinnamon or a sprinkle of sea salt to the dough for a unique twist. You can also mix in crushed pretzels, nuts, or toffee bits for added texture.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve as a sweet treat at parties, as a gift, or after dinner with a glass of milk. These truffles pair well with hot cocoa or coffee.
  • Storage Tips: Store truffles in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage. Keep them in an airtight container to prevent them from drying out.
