Ingredients
- chocolate cake mix prepared according to box directions
- 2-3 tablespoon chocolate frosting
- 16 oz chocolate bark
- White Ball Sprinkles
Instructions
- Allow cake to cool after baking according to box directions.
- Crumble entire cake in a large bowl with a fork.
- Add frosting and work it into the cake crumbs with your hands until it forms a ball.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Melt chocolate bark in a microwave-safe cup in 30-second intervals, stirring often.
- Dip the tip of each stick into the melted chocolate. Then push that end into a cake ball. This will help secure the cake balls onto the stick.
- Freeze them for 1 hour.
- Prepare a place for your cake pops to chill and harden. I often use a cardboard box and poke holes into it.
- Melt chocolate bark again in a microwave-safe cup so cake balls can be dipped in.
- Carefully roll each cake pop in melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
- Before chocolate hardens, add sprinkles.
- Place dipped cake pops in your prepared box.
- Chill before serving.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- Make sure to freeze the cake pops on their sticks for 1 hour before dipping them in melted chocolate. This will help ensure that the pops stay on their sticks when being dunked into the chocolate.
- Do not to add too much frosting or balls will be too soft to hold together.
- Add the sprinkles to each cake pop before the chocolate hardens to ensure that they stick.
- Work the frosting into the cake crumbs with your hands until everything forms a ball that holds its shape.
- Melt chocolate bark in 30-second intervals, stirring often, and dip each stick in it before pushing it into a ball so it holds.
- Use a cardboard box with holes poked in it as an easy place to chill and harden them after dipping them in melted chocolate if you don't want to buy a stand.
- Roll each cake pop carefully in melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
- Invest in quality ingredients to ensure the best results 3. Double up on chocolate bark when melting so that you have enough to dip all of your cake pops.
