Cranberry Apple Sangria
Cranberry Apple Sangria blends fresh fruit, aromatic spices, and chilled pinot grigio to create a balanced, refreshing drink. The mixture of cranberry apple juice, orange slices, fresh cranberries, and apple pieces is infused with rosemary, cinnamon, star anise, and cloves to add warming spice notes. Chilling the combination allows the flavors to meld, resulting in a crisp, lightly sweetened sangria perfect for gatherings or quiet moments.
Ingredients
- 3 cups juice divided, cranberry apple cocktail
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 orange thinly sliced
- ½ cup cranberries fresh, halved
- 2 rosemary fresh, 5-inch sprigs
- 2 cinnamon sticks 3-inch
- 3 star anise pods
- 8 clove whole
- 2 cups apples small, sliced
- 1 pinot grigio 750 ml bottle, chilled
Instructions
- Combine 2 cups cranberry apple juice and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in oranges, cranberries, rosemary, cinnamon sticks, star anise and cloves. Let stand 30 minutes; remove and discard rosemary and cloves.
- In a large pitcher, whisk together orange mixture, apples and remaining 1 cup cranberry apple juice.
- Let chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Serve over ice with pinot grigio.
