Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons fresh orange zest
- 2 teaspoons vanilla or almond extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries halved (or 1 cup Dried Cranberries)
- 1 1/2 - 2 cups white chocolate chips or chunks
- Optional Orange Glaze:
- 1/4 cup butter softened
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar for 4 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Add orange zest and vanilla or almond extract and cream for 1 minute.
- Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, and salt and mix just until combined. Stir in cranberries and white chocolate.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Drop onto Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheets. Bake for 11-14 minutes or until lightly golden on edges. Let cool.
- If making orange glaze: in a small bowl, stir together butter, powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth. Drizzle over cookies.
