Cream Cheese Candy

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 8 cups powered sugar plus more for rolling
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons strawberry extract
  • red gel food coloring
  • pink gel food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon Valentine's sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle cream together the cream cheese and butter until smooth
  2. Add in the strawberry extract and 2 cups of powdered sugar
  3. Beat on low until all incorporated.
  4. Continue adding powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until all the powdered sugar has been incorporated. It should not be sticky and an almost playdoh consistency.
  5. Separate the dough into 3 bowl and color one bowl red, one pink and then just add the sprinkles to the third
  6. Using a rolling pin roll out each ball of candy to about ¼-½ inch thick.
  7. Use a fork to drag lines down the rolled out dough.
  8. Then use a tiny heart cookie cutter to cut out your shapes and set on a parchment lined tray.
  9. Leave them to air dry for 2-4 hours or even overnight.
