Creamed Peas and Potatoes

Creamed peas and potatoes are a classic side dish that is absolutely delish! Super creamy and full of flavor, it's a side dish that is both hearty and comforting!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound red potatoes
  • 4 cups peas fresh or frozen
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup parmesan grated

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot to boil and boil the potatoes for 10-12 minutes or until until fork tender.
  2. Add the peas the last 3 minutes of cooking time. Drain.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium high heat add the butter and melt. Whisk in the flour, salt and pepper until it thickens up.
  4. Whisk in the milk, heavy cream, and parmesan over medium high heat until thick.
  5. Add the potatoes and peas back to the sauce for 2-3 minutes and serve.
