Crispy Cheese Chips
Crispy Cheese Chips are simple baked mounds of shredded mozzarella seasoned with garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes. When baked until golden and crisp at the edges, they develop a crunchy texture and a slightly chewy center. These cheese crisps make a flavorful, low-carb snack or appetizer with a touch of spice and herb aroma.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup mozzarella cheese 3 ounces, shredded part-skim
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon oregano dried
- Pinch red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the shredded cheese into six fairly equal mounds on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Gently flatten them with your hands.
- Evenly sprinkle the cheese mounds with garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
- Bake until the edges are browned, about 15 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven. Let the chips cool and crisp up, still on the cookie sheet, for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Bake the cheese chips until edges are deep brown for maximum crispiness, starting to check after 10-12 minutes.
- Make only as many chips as you plan to eat immediately, as they lose crispness quickly.
- Extra shredded cheese freezes well and can be used directly from the freezer in other recipes.
