Crock Pot BBQ Chicken
Crock Pot BBQ Chicken combines boneless, skinless chicken breasts with a sauce blend of barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic. Slow-cooked in a crock pot, the chicken becomes tender and flavorful, suitable for eating whole or shredded on buns, pizzas, or salads.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken breast boneless, skinless
- 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce)
- 1/4 cup Italian dressing zesty
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic minced
Instructions
- Spray the inside of a large crock pot with cooking spray. ( I use a 7 quart) Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper then lay in bottom of crock pot.
- In a medium bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Pour mixture evenly over chicken. Cover crock pot with lid and cook on High heat for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low heat for 5 hours.
- Serve chicken either whole, or shred with two forks. Serve on hamburger buns, pizzas, salads or whatever your heart desires. Enjoy!
Notes
- Cooked chicken can be cooled and stored in ziplock bags, releasing air and sealed tightly for freezing up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen chicken in the refrigerator for 24 hours before reheating on the stovetop over medium heat until heated through.
- Chicken can be served whole or shredded, offering versatility for sandwiches, pizzas, salads, or other dishes.
