Crockpot Apple Butter
If you love the smell of fall, you have to try this tasty Crockpot Apple Butter. It is cooked in the slow cooker for hours, making your house smell of warm apples and cinnamon!
Ingredients
- 6-7 pounds apple peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Peel, core and slice the apples and place in a 7 quart (or bigger) slow cooker.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add the sugars and apple pie spice and mix with a whisk.
- Pour the sugar mixture over the apple slices in the slow cooker and toss to coat evenly
- Cover and cook on low for 10 hours. Stir occasionally.
- Uncover and add the vanilla, stir to mix into the apples and turn the slow cooker to high. Cook for 2 hours, uncovered.
- Use a stick blender to blend the apples (or use a food process/blender).
- Serve with crusty bread, cheese, fruit etc.
Notes
- Once the apple butter has completely cooled and been placed into jars or airtight containers.
- Refrigerator Storage – You can store the apple butter in the fridge for up to 1 month.
- Freezing – You can store the apple butter in the freezer for up to 1 year. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before using.
