Crowd Pleasing Cheetos Popcorn

Crowd Pleasing Cheetos Popcorn combines homemade popcorn with a sharp cheddar cheese powder and crunchy Cheetos pieces for a snack mix with contrasting textures and cheesy flavor. The popcorn is cooked in coconut oil and seasoned with salt before cheese powder and Cheetos are quickly mixed in while warm.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese powder or the cheese mix from a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, about 1/3 cup
  • 3 cups Cheetos not the puffs, crunchy

Instructions

  1. Place the oil into a large heavy-bottomed pot over high heat.
  2. Add popcorn and seasoned salt, cover with a lid, and gently shake the pot as the popcorn cooks.
  3. When 90% of the popcorn has popped, remove from the heat.
  4. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
  5. Quickly sprinkle with the cheddar cheese powder and stir well to coat the popcorn.
  6. Add Cheetos and stir to combine. Serve immediately.
