  • 2 basil leaves torn
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 3 oz vodka
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • ice

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add fresh chopped cucumbers, fresh basil leaves, and simple syrup into your cocktail shaker.
  2. Using a cocktail muddler, muddle the contents in the shaker to release the juices from the cucumber slices for about 1 minute.
  3. Next, add ice, vodka and lime juice into the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  4. Using a strainer, strain the martini into a martini glass to catch any cucumber pieces or seeds from muddling.
  5. Finally, garnish with a slice of fresh cucumber and basil leaf then serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Expert Tips:
  • Muddling The Cucumbers - It's important to chop the cucumbers before adding them to the cocktail shaker. In addition, the longer you muddle the cucumber mixture the more cucumber liquid and flavoring you will have for your cocktail.
  • Adjust Basil Based on Preference - This recipe calls for 2 basil leaves, but leaves can be anywhere from tiny to giant. I like two average sized leaves because I love basil flavor. Note basil is a strong herb so be sure to use more or less based on your personal preference.
