- Add the rum, lime juice, syrup, and 1/2 cup ice to a cocktail shaker. Top the shaker with its lid, and shake gently for 10-15 seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of lime.

Frozen Daiquiri
- Add the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to a blender along with 3/4 cup ice. Start on low speed, then increase to high.
- Blend for 1 minute or until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass, garnish with a twist of lime, and serve.

To make simple syrup, follow these steps:
Add equal parts water and granulated sugar to a saucepan or skillet over medium heat. I usually add a cup of each. Stir often and let the mixture gently heat up. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, you can take the syrup off the heat. Let the syrup cool for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a bottle to use.
