Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth.
  3. Dip cauliflower florets into the batter, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot to 365°F. Fry the battered cauliflower in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove the fried cauliflower from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
