Ingredients
For the spiced syrup
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cardamom pod cracked
- nutmeg pinch
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 star anise
For the cocktail
- ½ cup coffee liqueur Kahlua
- 1 cup chocolate vodka
- ½-1 cup spiced syrup to taste
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the simple syrup in a saucepan set over medium high heat. Bring to a simmer and allow to cook until the sugar has dissolved then remove from the heat and allow to cool before straining the spices out.
- To make the cocktail, combine the Kahlua, Vodka and syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled then pour into martini glasses.
- Optional: Add a small pellet of dry ice into each glass and allow to evaporate completely before serving.
