Dirt Cake Recipe

Dirt Cake is a layered dessert featuring a chocolate cake base soaked with hot fudge, topped with chocolate pudding layers mixed with milk and Cool Whip, and finished with crushed Oreo cookies. The cake absorbs the fudge through poked holes, creating a moist chocolate foundation. Creamy pudding layers and crunchy cookie topping add texture contrast. This no-bake style assembled dessert is chilled before serving.

Notes

  • Use the back of a spoon to evenly poke holes in the cake for the hot fudge to seep through effectively.
  • Warm the hot fudge until pourable to ensure it distributes well into the cake holes.
  • Refrigerate the dessert to allow pudding layers to chill and set properly before serving.
  • The crushed Oreos add texture both folded into the top layer and sprinkled on top.
