Ingredients
- 4 lices white bread buttered cut into small cubes
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place brown sugar in the top pot or dish of the double boiler.
- Then add the cubed bread on top of the brown sugar.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk, vanilla, and salt, then pour it over bread.
- Place the pot over simmering water on the double boiler, cover and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Do not stir the mixture.
- The brown sugar sauce will be in the bottom of pot.
- Once cooked, turn over the bread pudding onto a serving plate.
