Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler
One of the greatest things about owning a Dutch oven is getting to cook wherever you want. They can make meals that are so delicious you would think that they are magic!
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 22 ounces peach pie filling one can, weight is approximate
- 12 ounces Sprite one can
Instructions
- Spread peach pie filling evenly over the bottom of the dutch oven.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top.
- Pour Sprite evenly over the top.
To Bake with Coals
- Place lid on the dutch oven and place about 15 coals on top and 5-8 underneath.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, until the top is brown and bubbly.
To Bake in the Oven
- Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Bake prepared cobbler, uncovered, for 20-30 minutes until the top is brown and bubbly.
Notes
- I tested this recipe with Duncan Hines classic yellow cake mix, and it was fabulous. But use whatever yellow cake mix you have on hand; I think it will be just as yummy.
- To keep the leftover cobbler from becoming soggy, allow it to cool completely before putting it into an airtight container.
- If you think the top is getting too dark while baking, cover it lightly with a piece of aluminum foil until it's done
- .I like using a Dutch oven for this recipe, but you can use any glass, metal, or cast iron pan that is oven-safe.
