Easter Dirt Cake

Easter Dirt Cake is super adorable and oh so delicious! Made with a an Oreo crust, cheesecake mixture, pudding, homemade whipped cream and decorated with cute little Easter peeps and coconut "grass".

Ingredients

first layer
  • 33 Oreo cookies I used a 13.29 oz package (reserve a handful for sprinkling on top)
  • 1/4 cup butter unsalted, melted
homemade whipped cream (to be divided)
  • 16 oz heavy whipping cream cold
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
second layer
  • 16 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup homemade whipped cream half of the above recipe
third layer
  • 3.4 oz instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups milk cold, I used whole milk
fourth layer
  • 1 cup homemade whipped cream remainder of the above recipe
  • Oreo crumbles handful, to sprinkle on top
topping/decorations
  • 8 Peeps
  • 1/2 cup coconut shredded, sweetened
  • green food coloring
  • mini Cadbury eggs
  • Jelly Beans

Instructions

first layer
    Cup of Yum
  1. Pulverize Oreos in a food processor until crumbly.
  2. Slowly pour melted butter into Oreos and pulse food processor until well combined.
  3. Reserve a handful of Oreo crumbs to sprinkle on top. Press remainder of buttered cookie crumbs into a 9x13 glass baking dish with clean hands or an offset spatula.
  4. Place in refrigerator to chill while making the next layer.
homemade whipped cream (to be divided in half)
  1. Make homemade whipped cream by combining heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in a bowl and beat with a stand mixer or hand mixer until soft peaks form. Set aside.
second layer
  1. Place softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl and mix to combine.
  2. Fold in HALF of the homemade whipped cream mixture until combined.
  3. Spread cream cheese/whipped cream mixture overtop the Oreo layer.
  4. Place in refrigerator to chill while making the next layer.
third layer
  1. Combine chocolate and vanilla pudding mixes with milk, whisking for 2 minutes.
  2. Spread pudding mixture overtop the cream cheese/whipped cream layer.
  3. Cover and place in refrigerator to chill at least 10 minutes.
fourth layer
  1. Spread remaining whipped cream overtop pudding layer.
  2. Sprinkle with remaining Oreo cookie crumbs for garnish and chill for another 20 minutes.
decorate!
  1. Pour coconut shreds into a small bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring and stir until your desired color is achieved.
  2. Decorate top of cake with coconut shreds for the "grass" and then add your Peeps, mini Cadbury eggs and jelly beans. Get creative!
  3. Serve chilled.
