Ingredients
- [1 batch Rice Krispie Treats]
- 1 package 16 ounce, Ghirardelli White Chocolate melting wafers
- 10 marshmallow PEEPS
- Sprinkles colored sugar
Instructions
- Start by making a batch of rice krispie treats. (or use 10 store bought krispie treats, unwrapped).
- After letting the krispie treats set, remove from pan by lifting by the parchment paper. Place on a cutting board and cut in half horizontally, then cut rectangles to make 10 large treats.
- Melt white chocolate in a glass bowl in microwave according to package directions. I use Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers for best results.
- Dunk one side of each rice krispie treat in the melted white chocolate (spreading evenly with an offset spatula if needed) and sprinkled with colored sanding sugar (or any pastel sprinkles) immediately. Place on parchment paper.
- Attach one bunny PEEP to each with a dollop of melted white chocolate. Set and enjoy.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- I use the bunny shaped peeps for this recipe. The chick shaped ones are a little too wide for this method. To make these for another holiday, you could sub other shapes like hearts for Valentine’s Day or Snowmen for winter!
- To keep the melted chocolate mess minimal, use a spoon or fork to scrape the excess chocolate off of each treat after dunking.
- These treats should be stored tightly covered at room temperature to keep the peeps from drying out. They’re best eaten within a couple of days after making.
- Get creative. Use a variety of colored peeps and sprinkles or pick your favorite! Kids love mixing and matching different color combos on these treats.
- Ghirardelli White chocolate melting wafers make the melted chocolate smooth and easy to work with. If you can’t find them, substituting white chocolate chips or a white chocolate bar (broken into pieces before melting).
