Easy Baked Cod Recipe

Dinner was never easier with this 15 minute baked cod recipe. Perfectly seasoned with pantry staples and drilled with butter and lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • 6 cod fillets about 4 oz each
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 teaspoons minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley or Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • Lemon wedges for serving

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. This helps the seasoning stick. 6 cod fillets
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, parsley, and onion powder. 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, ½ teaspoon dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  5. Place the fillets in the baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F when done. The exact timing will depend on the thickness of the fillets. Thin fillets may cook in as little as 5-6 minutes.
