Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip
This Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip combines cooked chicken with cream cheese and medium-spiced buffalo wing sauce, creating a creamy, tangy mixture with melted cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses on top. Baked until bubbly and golden, it offers a rich, smooth texture with a spicy tang. Ideal for serving warm as a party dip alongside chips, crackers, or bread, it’s an approachable appetizer that can be made ahead and stored refrigerated for convenience.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chicken cooked, chopped
- 8 ounces cream cheese very well-softened (lite okay, brick-style
- 8 ounces buffalo wing sauce I use medium heat
- 2 cups cheddar or similar, divided, finely grated, blend
- 2 cups Monterey jack cheese or similar, divided, finely grated, blend
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F and spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray; set aside.
- To a large bowl, add the chicken, cream cheese, wing sauce, 1 cup cheese, and stir to combine.
- Turn mixture out into prepared dish, smoothing the top lightly with a spatula.
- Top with remaining 1 cup cheese. Tip – For a make-ahead option, at this point cover with plasticwrap and refrigerate for up to 2 days before baking. Remove plasticwrap before baking.
- Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes (start watching at 25 minutes because all ovens, cheese, etc. varies), or until lightly golden browned and bubbly. Serve immediately with chips, crackers, bread, or your favorite dippers.
Notes
- To keep the dip vegetarian, thawed Beyond Meat Grilled Strips can replace chicken.
- Prepare the dip up to two days before baking; refrigerate covered and remove plastic wrap before cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to five days and reheat gently to maintain texture.
