Easy Candied Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 pound pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
  2. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Mix white and brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a small bowl.
  4. Whisk together the egg whites and water until frothy in a large bowl. Toss the pecans in the egg-white mixture.
  5. Add the sugar mixture to the pecan mixture and stir until the pecans are evenly coated.
  6. Spread coated pecans into one layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until pecans are evenly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the pecans cool on the baking sheet before storing or serving.
