Easy Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries or frozen
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla optional, only if you plan on using it on desserts

Instructions

  1. Place cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and water in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low-medium and cook for 8 minutes or until cranberries pop and the mixture is syrupy.
  3. Stir in vanilla (if using) and remove from heat.
  4. Cool for 20-30 minutes.
  5. Add the mixture to a food processor and process for 1 minute or until smooth, depends how you prefer it.
  6. Serve.
