Easy Cranberry Spritzer
This Easy Cranberry Spritzer blends cranberry simple syrup with fresh lemon juice and lemon-lime soda, creating a refreshing, lightly sweetened bubbly beverage. The recipe allows for an optional vodka addition to turn it into a cocktail. Garnishes like sugared cranberries, lemon slices, and Amarena cherries add a festive touch. The mixture can be prepared by the glass or pitcher, making it adaptable for casual sipping or entertaining.
Ingredients
- BY THE GLASS
- ice snow, crushed or clean fresh
- 2 oz cranberry simple syrup
- ¼ to ½ lemon juice depending on how tart you want it
- lemon-lime soda stir gently to combine
- cranberries sugared, for garnish; slice of lemon for garnish
- lemon sugared, for garnish; slice of lemon for garnish
- amarena cherries optional garnish
- 1-1.5 oz vodka optional for cocktail
BY THE PITCHER
- 4-6 oz cranberry simple syrup
- 2 cups cranberry juice like Simply Cranberry, cocktail
- ⅓ cup lemon juice fresh squeezed
- 1 cup vodka optional
- 1 liter lemon-lime soda not as sweet, or mineral water
- lemon cranberries and a sprig of mint or rosemary, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Fill glass with crushed ice (I use my Ninja blender to pulverize my ice, but crushed or even cubes would be just fine) or grab some newly fallen snow.
- Pour in 2 oz of Cranberry Simple Syrup. Squeeze ¼ to ½ lemon (depending on how tart you want it). Top off with lemon-lime soda, stir gently to combine. If adult cocktail is desired, add vodka prior to lemon-lime soda.
- Garnish with sugared cranberries or a dark, rich Amarena cherry
- By the PitcherMix ingredients in order listed, except soda/seltzer and refrigerate until ready to serve. Before serving, add soda or seltzer, stir gently. Slice oranges and/or lemons to float on top, a few cranberries and sprigs of rosemary. Serve with sliced lemons, sugared cranberries or Amarena cherries.
Notes
- Lemon or lime sparkling water, ginger ale, or cranberry ginger ale can be used instead of lemon-lime soda for different flavors.
- Switch lemon juice for lime or orange juice to vary the tartness and citrus profile.
- Use commercially available Grenadine syrup in place of cranberry simple syrup for a Shirley Temple variation.
- Add 1 to 1.5 ounces vodka per glass to create an adult cocktail version of the spritzer.
