Easy Guinness Beer Bread

Featuring Guinness stout, this easy four ingredient beer bread is ready in under an hour. No yeast, no kneading, just simple and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Sifted Self-Rising Flour
  • ½ Cup butter melted
  • ¼ Cup sugar
  • 12 Ounce Guinness beer Room temperature

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Sift 3 cups of flour and add to a bowl, mix in the sugar, and then the room temperature beer. Stir to combine well.
  3. Pour the dough into a well-oiled 9x5 bread pan. Spread the beer dough to the edges of the pan.
  4. Pour the melted butter over the top of the beer bread.
  5. Bake the Guinness beer bread for 25 minutes, uncovered. Rotate and bake an additional 25 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick, the toothpick should come out clean when the bread is done cooking.
  6. Remove the beer bread to a wire rack and allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes before slicing and enjoying.

Notes

  • Note: The beer bread dough should be fairly dry.  It should hold its shape but be spreadable with a heavy spatula or spoon.  The consistency of the dough can be adjusted with small amounts of flour or water/milk.
