Ingredients

  • 4 cups blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water ONLY need if using fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Combine the blackberries and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir frequently until the sugar mixes with blackberry juice and melts, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl combine lemon juice and cornstarch. Pour the slurry into the saucepan with the blackberries.
  4. Bring the sauce to a boil and allow it to cook for another 2 minutes as the sauce has thickened
  5. Transfer to an air-tight container and store in the fridge.
