Ingredients

  • 1 package ready rolled shortcrust pastry (375g/13oz) defrosted if frozen
  • 8 teaspoon strawberry jam
  • milk for brushing

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 190C / 375F. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment paper (or use the parchment from the pastry packet)
  2. Unroll the dough and cut into shapes with a heart cookie cutter.
  3. Spoon 1 teaspoon of the jam onto the centre of half of the shapes.
  4. Brush a little milk around the edges, then top with another shape and use a fork to crimp and seal the edges. Brush with some more milk, then use a sharp knife to cut a small slit in the pastry. Use smaller cutters to make shapes to decorate - just stick them on with some milk.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm or cold.
