Ingredients
- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs about 4 medium, 6 small. I use ButcherBox Chicken Thighs
- 2 tsp sea salt, divided
- 2 tsp Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning more or less, depending on your heat preference
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tbs butter
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season on all sides with 1 teaspoon of the sea salt. (You can choose to debone the chicken thighs for this recipe).
- Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in a large dutch oven. I recommend a dutch oven for this recipe because of the high sides to reduce spatter and increase crispiness.
- Turn the heat to medium. Cook undisturbed, about 10 minutes, until the skin is golden and crispy, using tongs to move the thighs around the pan ensure even browning. Let go for 5-6 additional minutes. Flip thighs over to skin side up and cook at medium-low temperature for 4-6 minutes. Set aside on a plate.
- Meanwhile, place 4 tablespoons butter, Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning, garlic powder and salt in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high until melted, about 40 seconds.
- Drizzle the sauce over the chicken and serve with your side of choice!
