Easy No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

My grandma's Easy No Bake Peanut Butter Bars recipe is amazing with a peanut butter base topped with melted chocolate chips and more!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter melted and cooled
  • 2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups powdered or icing sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups peanut or almond butter, smooth or crunchy
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup pecans, chopped, more or less to taste
  • ¼ cup Heath or Skor bits, more or less to taste
  • ¼ cup peanut butter chips, more or less to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Get out and measure all of your ingredients.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooled melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, sugar and 1 cup of the peanut butter.
  3. Stir until incorporated.
  4. Press on to the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan, as evenly as you can.  I use the bottom of a large glass to help me flatten the layer out.
  5. In a microwave safe bowl, combine ¼ cup of peanut butter and the chocolate chips.
  6. Melt on high in 20 or 25 second intervals.  At each break stir.  Keep slowly heating until smooth.
  7. Spread chocolate all over top.
  8. Sprinkle pecans, peanut butter chocolate chips and Heath or Skor bits all over top of the chocolate layer.  Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  9. When you're ready to slice them, run a sharp knife under some really hot water so your slices look smooth and beautiful. Put your knife back under the hot water and wipe in between slices as well.
  10. Serve and enjoy every bite!
  11. These bars are best kept stored in your refrigerator or freezer. They will last for up to 5 days inside your fridge or 2 months in the freezer.

Notes

  • *If you’re peanut butter mixture seems too runny, try adding an extra ¼ cup of icing or powdered sugar and stir until blended. You might need up to another ¼ cup.
  • **Also, if your home is warm, you might need to keep this dessert inside your fridge or freezer until moment of serving.
