Ingredients

  • 4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ cup water
  • 2 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1¾ tsp salt
  • 1⅓ tbsp olive oil
  • ⅓ cup olive Kalamata

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Mix the Dough:In a stand mixer, combine the flour, water, yeast, and oregano on low speed for 5 minutes, until the dough starts to come together. Add the olive oil and salt, and knead for another 5 minutes. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Fold the Dough:After 30 minutes, fold the dough with your hands to strengthen it. Let it rest for 1 hour, then fold it again. Repeat this process two more times.
  3. Let It Rise:Put the dough in a lightly oiled container, cover it, and let it rise until it doubles in size (about 2 hours). If you have time, let it rise overnight in the fridge for even better flavor.
  4. Shape the Dough:Preheat the oven to 465°F (240°C). Grease a baking pan with oil and place the dough in it. Gently stretch the dough to fit the pan, then use your fingers to make dimples in the surface. Add olives on top and press them into the dough. Sprinkle some salt over the top.
  5. Bake:Bake the focaccia for about 20 minutes, or until it’s golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!
