Ingredients
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (yellow or red onion)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour plain
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion or garlic powder
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add onion and oil. Sift together flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture making a stiff dough.
- Pour mixture into 2 greased 9×5-inch loaf pans.
- Allow rise until doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes.
- Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
