Ingredients
- 7 to 9 pounds bone-in cured or smoked ham
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place ham cut side face down in a roasting pan or 9x13 pan.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, orange juice, balsamic vinegar, and salt.
- Pour half of the glaze over the ham. Cover loosely with aluminum foil.
- Cook in the preheated 350 degree oven for approximately 10 minutes per pound of ham, brushing twice with the remaining glaze during the cooking time. Remove aluminum foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- First, you will want to assess whether you are able to fit the ham into the basin of your slow cooker. Many hams are slightly too large. The lid needs to fit on top. If yours is too large, you have a couple of options: you can cut some of the ham away, so that the slow cooker lid can fit down snugly, or you can cook your ham in a roasting pan.
- Place the ham in the slow cooker. Pour glaze over ham. Cook on low for 30 minutes for every pound of ham. Boneless ham and spiral cut hams will heat faster.
