Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg large, yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • butter (for greasing and topping)
  • syrup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt with a whisk.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the milk, egg yolk, oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and grease with butter or cooking spray.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake and cook until bubbles appear on the surface.
  6. Flip the pancakes and cook until the other side is golden brown.
  7. Serve the pancakes hot with butter and syrup.
