Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • 1 pound small cooked shrimp peeled and chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook onion in 1 tablespoon butter until tender but not browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Beat onion, cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, hot sauce, dill weed, old bay seasoning, and garlic powder with a mixer until fluffy.
  4. Fold in shrimp meat and ¾ cup of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Place in a small baking dish and top with remaining cheese. Bake 18-22 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Broil if needed.

Notes

  • If using raw shrimp, season with your favorite seasonings (I love cajun seasoning) and cook in butter over medium high heat until just cooked and pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove tails if needed and chop.
