Easy & Simple Chinese Five Spice Taters

Crispy golden brown roasted potatoes packed with garlicky Chinese five spice flavors! These quick and easy Chinese Five Spice Taters are such a simple potato dish using very minimal ingredients! A great side dish or snack idea!

Ingredients

  • 10 small Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil or any neutral oil
  • 1 green onion finely chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Peel potatoes and dice them into 2-cm cubes.
  3. Spread diced potatoes evenly on a large baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle salt, garlic powder and Chinese five spice on top. Drizzle vegetable oil on top.
  4. Using your hands, massage spices and oils into each tater until evenly coated.
  5. Bake on the middle rack for 30 minutes until golden crispy brown, no flipping required.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with Japanese mayo or regular mayo and enjoy!
